2. He was no hater, he just wasn't fine by calling Messi the GOAT when he didn't manage to win a World Cup. I can completely understand him! Football is and will always be a TEAM-Sport. If you as one of biggest players, are not able to win one, it shows that there is a problem somewhere. Could be miscommunication (not unrealistic), could be a lack of quality with his team mates (to some degree you might argue about that) or even dislike among the team mates. BUT when you as a player wanna be considered as the GOAT you need to show your qualities besides playing ball. Mentally, communication-wise and leadership-wise.

   To be honest, to me the world cup isn't the biggest tournament in football. This has so much more to do with politics than with the sport, than any other tournament of importance. To me the biggest thing to win is the Champions League. Yes hear are politics also, but just football politics, the World Cup has to deal with national & international politics as well.
