  1. I love spain but this spain squad is weak. Too many average players Ramos, Thiago, Nacho, De Gea, all deserved a call

  2. Ramos returned to a good level. Even if not great his experience would of helped younger players.

  3. No Sergio Ramos…who is still pretty dang fit for his age, and just a serial winner….is dumb af.

  4. a Pedri + Thiago & Rodri midfield would be much stronger than the Pedri + Gavi & Busquets midfield he's going to play, in my opinion. Ramos you could argue isn't better than Pau or Laporte but he's better than any of the backup options. i don't think the omissions really affect Spain's chances though. they're a quarterfinal exit team either way.

  5. I feel like people that think Thiago should’ve gone don’t know his history.

Thiago is very injury prone, like he’s was only not injury prone during the 2020 season and players had 4 months to rest. Him going to a tournament where they play 2 games a week, and being on a Spain side where they will probably make it to the semi finals, it’s just asking him to injured. Especially considering his talent, he would play most games but there’s a high chance he would be injured and now you have one less player and your system has to be revamped because you most likely expected him to be fit.

Ramos is a good player, but he hasn’t been doing much at all since leaving real, he doesn’t look as fit, and he doesn’t have that hunger to win anymore.

  6. Thank you for the early present, we appreciate it and will make sure he enjoys his vacation, ready for the next club game.

  7. Leaving your best CM out of the squad is baffling. But your loss is our gain here at Liverpool, as he’ll get a nice rest. Still feel bad for him though as he seems such a nice guy.

  8. Nothing new here. Spain has always overvalued their own league over the others. Still, a hard argument to make for bringing Ramos, but Thiago's is pretty much one of the best MF in the premier league. The only possible reason is that he probably can't play that many games in that short period of time.

  9. Well they’re both not elite anymore and old , so yea not including them is actually the right call

  10. Luis Enrique would probably already know who his first choice centre backs are and maybe even his back up. And if you count guaranteed starters and others he might use, at least 5-6 out of the 26 men will probably not get a kick at the World Cup.
I'd rather Sergio Ramos be one of them, as long as he is aware of his role on the team as a leader, especially given how young the squad is and how politically charged the circumstances around the World Cup seem to be. His experience to deal with the press, his experience in the locker room might be invaluable for young players in terms of preparation and recovery in international tournaments. Plus, you can use him for specific match situations like needing a goal in the last 10-15 minutes when the best chances are expected to come from corners, set-pieces or crosses, or a penalty shoot out. He has been Real Madrid and Spain's designated penalty taker in the past. In high pressure situations, you'd trust him to take penalties over the rather young squad they have.

  11. Thiago, I think was needed because he just has alot more experience and long range passing for the bigger games than the rest

  12. That’s what u get when u leave Barcelona and play everywhere. He didn’t bide his time for just a season more to be in famous Barca midfield. He was only 22!

  13. Luis Enrique is a loser big time
Spain will suffer, young and inexperienced backline 👎🏻

  14. For once I agree with Luis Enrique, it's better to win or lose with youngsters than veterans. Every team has to move on.

  15. Leaving these two out is criminal!! They bring leadership and experience!! Enrique is def getting the criticism when they are going to be underwhelming!!

  16. That coach like to send statements probably wont ever win a title but you need Ramos even if it's in the dressing room like how Brazil is bringing Danni Alvez but Enrique is trying to proof that he can have a good squad with average players or players who are good but not great that's y there is a mixture of all players

  17. As a Liverpool fan, I am happy Thaigo is not going 😂😂😂. Let him rest, he is needed more by Liverpool who appreciates what he brings to the squad

  18. Ramos hasn’t been consistently playing for Spain for 2 years. I think he knows bringing Ramos only brings problems to his team

  19. People forget that we went to the semi finals of the Euro with Eric Garcia and Diego Llorente in defence lol. Btw, Thiago wasnt that good with Spain
