Channel 5’s opening episode The legacy saw the Watson family struggle under the weight of a shocking death and several stunning revelations.

Not only did Sian, Daniel and Chloe unexpectedly lose their father Dennis, who apparently suffered from dementia, but they also learned that he had left his entire estate to Susan, a woman he had secretly married over the course of ‘a 14-year affair – which prompted her siblings to wonder if she was responsible for Dennis’ death.

Did she hide the chemicals and high concentration alcohol around her house? And is that why Dennis’s will stipulated that his body be cremated rather than buried, as he had previously requested?

After the coroner interrupts the funeral to announce that his body must be taken for further examination, it is clear that something is wrong.

And if that wasn’t the case almost enough Drama, someone is watching the siblings as they begin their own investigation into their father’s death, raising many questions ahead of the next episode.

Episodes of The Inheritance air weekly, with episode 2 arriving on September 11th.

There are four episodes in total, with the series ending on September 25.
