Rumors of a falling out between the singers first emerged in 2021 after Rodrigo outed Swift and her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff retroactive co-writing credits and 50 percent royalties for his track Déjà vu after interpolating Swift’s Cruel Summer.
The 20-year-old also gave the pair retroactive writing credits for 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back as the tune interpolated Swift’s New Year’s Day.
Two years later, songwriter credit issues led some to speculate that Rodrigo’s debut single Vampire, from his album Guts, was about Swift after it emerged that the 33-year-old had enlisted Sabrina Carpenter to open her Eras tour.
Carpenter, 24, has long been considered the “blonde” mentioned in Rodrigo’s first hit, Drivers License.
However, Swift seemingly quashed any rumors of bad blood between the two when she was seen cheering and applauding Rodrigo as his performance was announced at the VMAs.
Although the singer has not directly commented on the feud, fans of the critically acclaimed artists took to had “no beef” between them.
One fan wrote: “Non-existent beef was crushed” while another wrote: “You can say there is no beef.” Stop it guys!
“Finally everyone shut up now,” said a third alongside the video of Swift supporting the young Grammy winner.
Swift’s gesture comes after Rodrigo addressed ongoing speculation that they were arguing in a new interview with rolling stone.
The former Disney star said: “I don’t have a problem with anyone.
“I’m very relaxed. I stay for myself. I have my four friends and my mom, and they’re really the only people I talk to. There is nothing to say.
“There are so many conspiracy theories on Twitter. I only look at alien conspiracy theories.

Previously, Rodrigo told the Guardian she was “surprised” to learn of a fan theory suggesting her track Vampire was about Swift.
She began: “How can I answer this? I mean, I never want to say who my songs are about. I’ve never done this before in my career and I probably won’t.
“I think it’s better not to categorize a song than to talk about that one thing.”
She then added of Swift in particular: “I was very surprised when people thought that.”
Regarding the songwriting and plagiarism allegations, the Good 4 U hitmaker said it was “disappointing to see people taking things out of context and discrediting a young woman’s work.”
