Tui Airways’ first flights on the new route from Glasgow Airport to Sal, described as having “sunny weather and miles of sandy beaches”, will begin on November 3.
Glasgow Airport said the Atlantic island is “an ideal base from which to explore the rest of the archipelago”.
“Temperatures rarely drop below 24 degrees, even in the dead of winter,” the statement said.
The winter launch of the new route, due to open next summer, follows a new commitment from the holiday provider to Glasgow.

Tui announced earlier this year that it would increase the number of aircraft based at Glasgow Airport from four to six ahead of an expansion bringing more seats next year.
Tui said Glasgow, the company’s biggest base in Scotland, will offer its biggest summer program to date next year.
Andrew Flintham, Managing Director of Tui, said: “Glasgow Airport will see a significant increase in aircraft seats, providing more holidays for those living in the area. »
The vacation giant is increasing the number of seats to a number of destinations.
It includes Mallorca, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Ibiza, Zakynthos and Rhodes, and will add a new route to the Greek island of Kefalonia next year, while extending the existing winter service to Sharm el-Sheikh from Glasgow to next summer.
Glasgow Airport said that “in the middle of the Atlantic, the exotic islands of Cape Verde offer an incredible diversity of landscapes and cultures in an archipelago of ten islands”.
It said: “Experience the ultimate island hopping on a Cape Verde holiday from Glasgow Airport.
“The most extraordinary thing about the Cape Verde Islands is the diversity of their landscapes.
“Marvel at the tall black volcano that towers over Fogo (Island of Fire), experience an adrenaline-filled road trip through the desert interior of Boa Vista, soak up the chic Riviera-style atmosphere of Sao Vicente or enjoy a a hike in the hills of Santiago. ”
