2. I loved her "Day in the Life" and am shocked at the conservative backlash!! Not having kids being "selfish" in a world profoundly threatened by over-population, are you kidding me??? Not putting more people on the planet is much better for the world. I decided to have my own kids anyway, knowing there are several children out there needing good homes. I went ahead knowing it was possibly the most selfish thing I would do. Live and let live, who cares if someone else doesn't want kids, it's not like it affects you… not like if that kid goes out and buys a gun, THAT can affect you or your kids. …far more concerning.

9. If I hadn't had a child at 21 and if my mom hadn't talked about how much she wanted grandchildren since I was 15 I'd definitely have ended up being childless. I love my son but motherhood IS hard, especially when they're neurodivergent. After showing up to work in tears at least three days a week for three months, because every morning was a struggle, I finally had to admit he was better off with his dad and step mom in a smaller city than a mental health disaster of a mom who works two jobs, does sex work on the side, wants to do things with her girlfriend when she feels like it and simply doesn't have the time or patience to be a good parent to him. To all the young people who think they want children, make sure you truly want them and you truly want them with the person you're with.

35. A lot of ppl upset because they had high hopes that their kids would return favors one day or fix unhappiness in their lives. Once kids can actively choose to stop visiting them when they're old they realize they may have put up with years of sacrifice for nothing(or at least not the return they expected). Now, some ppl (not all) are bitter cause they don't even get the status of fake happiness anymore since Chelsea Handler is taking away their last thing to feel good about away from them. Reality is kids don't guarantee(nor do they owe you) happiness which is why so many parents suffer from addictions, illness or jump from relationship to relationship(putting kids through hell) thinking happiness is always somewhere else but noone can keep them entertained forever not even their own children. Not to mention kids can be born with mental/physical defect they can't afford or they could suffer permanent injuries they're not prepared to deal with. Narcissistic people imagine an ideal life for themselves without realizing the concept of freedom of autonomy as reality changes day by day and can't maintain fantasies forever. Also with the rise of unstable relationships and single parent/fatherless homes children are more likely to suffer health issues, end up in jail, do poorly in school and suffer more abuse statistically speaking (being dragged through parents multiple affairs which require time, resources and energy to sustain at expense of kids). With all factors considered def not something someone should consider under peer pressure overall and it can take a lot of ppl(strong family foundation) to raise just one healthy child so to pressure one woman(while neglecting whether or not she can provide best outcome for a child) with no support is a recipe for disaster and selfish. To top it off your genetics legacy is not carried on because after 6 generations down the line your not related to those great-great-great grandkids anymore than you would be to anyone else
