13. If Maguire has shown anything in the past 2 years at United it's that he is not good enough to be a starting centre-back in this team, let alone wear the captain's armband. Whichever defender is next to him (in this case Martinez) has to constanly cover for him which means they cannot focus on their own game. Having one useless centre-back results in two useless centre-backs no matter how good one of them is. He's been awful for 18 months, you earn your place in the team through performance not because you're captain. Does Maguire galvanize the players into playing well ? NO- he blames others player for for his dire performances. Maguire only has himself to blame for his dire performances, the excuses need to stop, de Gea, Varane, Fred, McTominay, Shaw, Lindelof, etc… are not responsible for Maguire's deficiencies. THIS IS NOT CAPTAINS MATERIAL END OFF.

33. I really believe this lad needs to surrender the armband and just concentrate on his own game. Yes, it's a great honour, but less so that representing the Club to the absolute best of your potential and delivering success. Better to be a normal player in a successful squad, than Captain of a poor side. It's no dishonour to surrender, or have the arm band taken away.
