Several special guests were welcomed to the training ground this week as part of the Chelsea Foundation Community Days.

The Community Opening Days of the 2023/24 season saw Chelsea supporters going through difficult times invited to Cobham, along with their families, for an exclusive experience.

After a Q&A with Chelsea legend Carlo Cudicini and Chelsea TV’s Lee Parker, the special guests took to the training ground to watch Maurico Pochettino’s side in action, before meeting Mauricio and the team for photos and signed memorabilia.

Jake McHale said: “It’s been a really tough time recently. I was in and out of hospital with chemotherapy and it was an amazing mind-blowing experience. It was so much better than expected to be able to meet my hero Thiago Silva is a dream come true.

Frankie Rice, Freddy McNeill and Oliver Collins also took advantage of this unique opportunity. Ken, Frankie’s brother, said: “We had the best day on the practice ground. Everyone looked after us and made us feel very special. Thanks to the Chelsea Foundation for making this possible, we will never forget that.

Chelsea fans Oakley Andrews, Samuel Grossman, Bradley Rawlins and Roman Mirga also met their heroes.

Roman said, “It was my birthday yesterday and what an amazing birthday present to be able to meet my idols. I love my football and today gave me the boost I needed.

Oakley added: “It’s been a tough few months for me, so it was fantastic to be here today. I really enjoyed this and want to thank everyone for their help in making it happen.
