6. I grew up watching football in the Seventies when pitches were swamped with mud in the Winter, or snow covered, or rutted with ice…or just rutted and bald in the Springtime. This pitch LOOKS beautiful. But clearly not fit for purpose on the Wings and potentially dangerous to players. Surely they must have tried to protect the pitch from frost. Even if there was no undersoil heating. The stands were full. So disappointing for those supporters.
